The Sweet Smell of....

SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!  Don't you just LOVE it?!?

I mean, don't you just want to press your face against the computer screen and inhale with all your might?!  Oh man, I sure do!  Ha!  I don't know what it is about pens and paper, but they stimulate an excitement within me like nothing else.  The whole experience....walking up to Staples, Office Max....any office supply store....the quiet slide of the automatic doors....the WHOOSH of cold blasted air slamming into your face while carrying the strong sacred scent of fresh ink and paper reams for your nose to indulge itself.  Sweet mercy.

And the COLORS!!!  I can't ever pick just one.  If there is a package that holds my favorite writing utensil that has every color selection available, you can be certain that it will hurdle itself into my basket.  I get giddy like a school girl when I rip open the package at home and lay the colors out in rainbow color order...red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink....and then just stare at them.  I mean, I don't even have to USE them to flip out.  No, just looking at them and all their colorful beauty makes me quite pleased.

I'm not partial to any certain kind.  However, I do have my trusty faves that I always come back to.  Sharpie for labeling and neat projects requiring a permanent pizzazz; Papermate ball point pens (in a variety of colors) for writing on those glossy surfaced papers; and the Pilot G2 gel pens for any writing I want to do at all.  While the pens and markers are fabulous, I thoroughly enjoy browsing for stuffs to use them on just as well!  Journals, stationary, note cards, college ruled notebooks, thank you cards, index cards, calendars.....the obsession is endless!!!  Just writing about it is getting me all worked up!  It may sound ridiculous.  This may all be bizarre, but I am willing to bet a hefty amount of pocket change that you have that one, simple "thing" that really gets to you.  Something that really revs your motor,  that truly speaks to your inner self and makes you scream, "YES!" or "MORE!" What turns you into a giddy 10 year old kid?  What makes you squirm with excitement?
